This blog is dedicated to the study of the moon and how it's described in The Holy Bible. I think the moon is it's own light source and not reflecting the sun's light. This blog will try to prove the answers that will inevitably arise from the research into this theory. This blog is currently a work in progress and updated as much as possible.
Who [is] as the wise [man]? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed (Ecclesiastes 8:1 KJV).
The moon could be possibly be made of glass and hollow. It may contain a variety of gases that are ionized and become plasma; therefore the moon could be similar to a fluorescent bulb. Let's first begin with the creation of the moon as it's stated in Scripture.
And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day (Genesis 1: 13-19. KJV).
In Scripture it clearly states there are two great lights in the sky. There's no suggestion of one light reflecting in order to create the other light. The Bible does make reference to reflections so there's no ambiguity regarding the matter:
As in water, face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man (Proverbs 27:19 KJV).
Let's try to answer the question: What can the moon be made of? As stated before the moon could be made of glass. Glass is a solid substance that's formed through a heating process of the chemical compound silica sometimes known as silicon dioxide, or quartz. Silica is the primary compound of sand (Wikipedia: sand). Is it possible that the Creator formed the moon in the same way as he fashioned the firmament? Did He use the same materials, the same overall construct?

We know through Scripture that there's a firmament (vault) over a flat earth.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. (Genesis 1:7 KJV)
The firmament is created as a huge glass dome to separate the water above from the water beneath which is the vast oceans. It's very similar to the Super dome in New Orleans and probably designed according to the Biblical structure.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. (Psalm 148:4 KJV)

The word “strong” is the Hebrew chazaq, which can mean strong, but can also mean firm or hard.

Here's some reference to the firmament being metallic due to the "hammering out" nature of the structure:
The “molten looking glass” is a reference to a brass mirror. Job is a very old book, and at that time mirrors were not made from glass but from metal that was poured out, then beaten flat and polished. The Holman Christian Standard Bible® renders this verse, “Can you help God spread out the skies as hard as a cast metal mirror?” The New American Standard Bible® has it, “Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, strong as a molten mirror?”(Source: Information Dojo: The Firmament).
To hammer out molten metal makes no sense when Yahuwah is separating the waters from the waters.
The melting point of bronze varies depending on the ratio of the alloy components and is about 950 °C (1,742 °F) (Source, Wikipedia: Bronze).
The use of bronze in order to create a gigantic dome separating waters from waters is not realistic due to its corrosive tendencies. A physical world must employ physical laws to govern. Here are two of the major problems with the use of a bronze ceiling.
Natural or Inherent Problems: Bronze, like cast iron, is a manufactured product. Copper is extracted from natural ores and alloyed with tin to create a metal which does not exist in nature. Many of the inherent problems relate to the normal physical process of the bronze "returning to nature", i.e. to the most stable states of its components.
Pitting: Corrosion of bronze, unlike that of natural stones, is in part an electro-chemical phenomenon. Points of negative electrical potential called cathodes and points of positive potential called anodes form on the bronze. In the presence of moisture, the corrosion process is driven by an electrical differential between the two points. This process can occur at a highly accelerated rate. It is widely understood that the Book of Job was written a long time ago but the fact remains that there's no designated time frame that has ever been officially presented.
Date of Writing: The date of the authorship of the Book of Job would be determined by the author of the Book of Job.
If Moses was the author, the date would be around 1440 B.C. If Solomon was the author, the date would be around 950 B.C. Because we don’t know the author, we can’t know the date of writing (Source: Got Questions).
The idea of bronze as the overall construct of the firmament is incorrect. It clearly states in the Book of Job that glass is the material used in creating the dome. In the National Geographic News, June 16, 2005, the world's oldest glass-works was discovered dating back to Egypt around 1250 BC.
The findings are published tomorrow in the journal Science.
Artifacts unearthed in Egypt's eastern Nile Delta show glass was made there from raw materials around 1250 B.C. The artifacts were found at the site of Pharaoh Ramses II's capital city. The remains reveal the earliest known glass making site anywhere in the world and the only one dating from the Bronze Age (Source: National Geographic News).

Was it created from heating sand to a high degree?

Float glass produces flat objects such as windows. Float glass is a sheet of glass made by floating molten glass on a bed of molten metal, typically tin, although lead and various low melting point alloys were used in the past (Source: Wikipedia: Float Glass). Glassblowing makes bottles, jugs and containers (Source: Wikipedia, Glass Production).
Glassblowing is a glass forming technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble (or parison), with the aid of a blowpipe (or blow tube)(Source: Wikipedia, Glassblowing).
The notion that Yahuwah would form a huge dome through a vitrification process may be difficult to realistically picture for some people. There has to be a lot of heat generated in order to make the minerals malleable. Note: Vitrification is a transformation of a substance into glass (Source: The Free Dictionary).
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork (Source: Psalm 19:1 KJV).
The heat is a factor in the creation of the elements. I will pose a question directly with the first Scriptural verse in Genesis:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Genesis 1: 1-2 KJV).
According to Scripture there was nothing but a void. A void according to any dictionary is something that contains no matter: 1. Containing no matter; empty. Free Dictionary.
In order to work with matter it had to be created thus the creation of atomic particles and through them the elements which were basic building blocks form structures. Was the theorized Big Bang found in Genesis?
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:3-4 KJV).
Yahuwah spoke into being the elements found in Genesis 1: 3. A Jesuit priest, Georges Henri Joseph Édouard Lemaître created the Big Bang Theory inspired by the notion of a extremely large explosion that's Scripturally accurate. A demonic intelligence guiding the theory along for a calculating end to discredit Bible truths. The discreditation of the Bible assists in making the Word of Yah appear archaic and inexact.
The elements can be combined in order to create compound minerals:
Minerals can be the pure element, like Gold, Silver or Copper, but most minerals are compounds of elements, like Quartz (SiO2), and Gypsum (CaSO42H2O). The most common mineral then is made up of the two most common elements, Oxygen and Silicon, SiO2 (Source: Fossilwalks).
Fused quartz or fused silica is glass consisting of silica in amorphous (non-crystalline) form (Source: Fused Quartz). A fulgurite is an example of fused quartz.

It has excellent thermal shock characteristics, being able to survive immersion in water while red hot. However, its high melting-temperature (1723 °C) and viscosity make it difficult to work with (Source: Wikipedia: Glass).

Fused quartz, also called fused silica glass, vitreous silica glass, is silica (SiO2) in vitreous or glass form (i.e., its molecules are disordered and random, without crystalline structure). It has very low thermal expansion, is very hard, and resists high temperatures 1000–1500 °C (1832 - 2732 F). It is also the most resistant against weathering (caused in other glasses by alkali ions leaching out of the glass, while staining it). Solid hydrogen is the solid state of the element hydrogen, achieved by decreasing the temperature below hydrogen’s melting point of 14.01 K (−259.14 °C). It was collected for the first time by James Dewar in 1899 and published with the title “Sur la solidification de l'hydrogène” in the Annales de Chimie et de Physique, 7th series, vol.18, Oct. 1899.[1][2] Solid hydrogen has a density of 0.086 g/cm3 making it one of the lowest density solids (Source: Wikipedia: Solid Hydrogen).
Refractive Index of Quartz
Quartz is a silicate and one of the most abundant minerals found in the Earth’s crust. Its chemical formula is SiO2 and its transparent crystals have a moderate refractive index. Its raw crystal growth typically consists of a 6-sided prism ending in a 6-sided pyramid. Being a crystal, quartz has modest birefringent properties. Its ordinary ray (index = 1.54425) and its extraordinary ray (refractive index = 1.55338) of electromagnetic radiation experience a refractive index difference of only 0.009 at 590 nanometers. The word quartz usually refers to the natural crystal or mineral as opposed to the phrase “fused quartz” which refers to the glass that is created out of a manufacturing process which involves heating quartz crystals to temperatures of around 2000 degrees Celsius (which has lower indices).
Pure quartz is colorless and transparent, though impure forms have recognizable names such as citrine (pale yellow or brown with a refractive index of ~1.55) and amethyst (purple with an index of ~1.54). Macrocrystalline (large crystal) varieties can be transparent to translucent. Cryptocrystalline (crystals too small to be seen by a microscope) varieties can be translucent to opaque.

Answer: The “firmament” (from the Latin firmamentum, meaning “sky” or “expanse”) is mentioned 17 times in the King James Version of the Bible and refers to the expanse of the heavens above the earth.
Nine of the occurrences of firmament are in the first chapter of the Bible as part of the creation account. Genesis 1:6-8 says, “And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.” The “firmament” is called “heaven”; i.e., it is what people see when they stand outside and look up. It is the space which includes the earth’s atmosphere and the celestial realm. In the firmament, we see the sun, moon, and stars; in modern translations the firmament is often called the “expanse” or the “sky.”
Genesis says that the firmament “separated the water under the expanse from the water above it” (Genesis 1:7). Originally, God created the earth with water “under” the sky (terrestrial and subterranean water) and water “above” the sky—possibly a "water canopy" which enwrapped the earth in a protective layer. Or, the waters above the firmament could simply be a reference to clouds.
We find firmament used again in Psalms: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” (Psalm 19:1). Also, in Psalm 150:1, “Praise ye the LORD. . . . Praise him in the firmament of his power.”
Firmament is used in only two other books of the Bible: Ezekiel (five times) and Daniel (once). In Ezekiel, each occurrence takes place within a vision. For example, “Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne” (Ezekiel 10:1).
Daniel 12:3 says, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
In short, the “firmament” is a vast expanse, specifically the atmosphere or sky. The word is found only in the King James Version and other older translations of the Bible.

Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals found on the surface of the earth. Known by the chemical name silicon dioxide, quartz is a crystalline solid used as a component in jewelry and sandpaper. Quartz crystals are also a common component in devices like cell phones, television receivers, and, of course, watches and clocks. One of the main reasons quartz is used in so many electronic devices is because it is piezoelectric, meaning it generates an electric charge when pressure is exerted upon it. Quartz also demonstrates a reverse piezoelectric effect: When an electric charge is applied to a quartz crystal, it begins vibrating. Liquid crystals, on the other hand, are not a singular substance. First discovered in the 19th century by scientists trying to determine the molecular weight of cholesterol, liquid crystals are actually a classification of compounds that comprise a fourth state of matter: The rod or plateshaped molecules in liquid crystals tend to flow like liquids, but maintain the alignment and order seen in solids [source: Nobelprize.org]. You've probably noticed that LCDs also known as liquid crystal displays are commonplace in computers, televisions and a host of other pieces of technology. Geological processes have occasionally deposited sands that are composed of almost 100% quartz grains. These deposits have been identified and produced as sources of high purity silica sand. These sands are used in the glass making industry. Quartz sand is used in the production of container glass, flat plate glass, specialty glass, and fiberglass (Source: Geology.com).

The Firmament is constructed much like an igloo. A more contemporary version can be found in the Duomo, Florence, Italy. The Firmament becomes lighter as it goes up from its foundation base much like the Florence Cathedral. The Pantheon in Rome is another visual example; please note Giovanni Panini's painting, The Pantheon, where the window is highlighted. This is the reference to the windows in Heaven.
